(side note - I grew up with older cousins that spent their allowances and Saturday afternoons sitting in dark theatres watching movies like SSBS. Blaxploitation movies came into their own in the 1970s and opened the door to actors who didn't fit the Hollywood norm at the time - they weren't white or bright (old saying for a light skinned African American (being politically correct here) - and introduced "urban living" to the rest of the world in a way that dramatized and romanticized it all at the same time. In researching the web for an image of SSBS the movie to post with this announcement I found a site listing an auction of some amazing posters for movies from that time.
