My mom, sister and I used to enjoy making gingerbread houses out of a very similar recipe. I think the proportions are a little different to make the cookie tougher (stronger) so the house will not buckle under all the decorations, but I bet your recipe tastes better!

Pepperidge Farm makes some really tasty gingerbread men cookies too, for people too busy to enjoy the fun of making them. But they won't make your home smell fantastic the way baking gingerbread does.....

I have been banned for life from making another gingerbread house (yes recipe for cookie differs slightly - the cookie isn't as tender)...will give P.F.'s version a try as well - they might help out in a pinch! I can always put a pot of cinnamon, molasses, cloves + ginger to bowl on the stove for the scent..

A really tasty treat can be made easily by putting a small scoop of good quality vanilla ice cream in between two P.F. gingerbread men cookies right before eating (so the cookies are still super crisp).
