During my childhood my father was obsessed with his Polaroid Camera and none of us were safe from him or its lens. He had a number of them, each one an improvement on the previous one adored. The instant gratification a Polaroid offered far outweighed the professional prints he and his 35mm captured. I hadn't thought about my father's near obsession with his instant camera until last year when Polaroid announced that they were no longer going to make films for these camera.
Last week the NY Times ran an article about a small company in the Netherlands that is investing time and effort in hopes of reinventing films for the instant camera and asked readers to send in their best instant shots. In response they received more than 900 photos and the array of expression is amazing .
