I have owned 3 of these coffee pots. In my opinion the Bodum Santos Vaccum Coffee Pot is the best coffee maker out there. The coffee is smooth, not bitter and the high school science magic is worth the extra time it takes to clean the thing. Unfortunately it is also fragile. The glass is thin and will break if you're not extra careful. This hasn't stopped me from hunting for its 4th replacement on Ebay.Worth the investigation!
