Explosive PG Rated New Years Eve

Now that the wrapping paper is on the curb to be recycled, the left overs are put away and the house is quiet it's time to consider what you're going to do for New Years Eve. Gone are the days of trailing from club to club and party to party with champagne bottle in hand for most of the people I know. Instead we tend to favor small gatherings, dinner and wine and afterwards often find ourselves venturing out to Prospect Park to watch the fireworks at midnight.

If you're in the Prospect Park (www.prospectpark.org) area, bundle up, pack the Champagne and snacks and head out to the Grand Army Plaza end of the park for the best views of the firework, which start at the stroke of mid-night, and festivities.

If you're closer to Central Park (www.centralpark.com) then make the Sheep's Meadow or Tavern on the Green areas your destination for this park's fireworks display.
