A Place To Rest

Those are $3.99 roses from Trader Joe's on 21st Street & 6th Ave, NY.
They actually smell like roses.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Today's Meditation was one of the senses.

False Flags - Massive Attack

Thought of the Day

If we are to have peace on earth, our loyalties must become ecumenical rather than sectional. Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective.

Brooklyn Recall

All Images © Simone Rene 2013

Lately I have been trying to remember the Brooklyn of my childhood by pushing pass the sentimentality and romanticization of memory. It is hard; with the constant change of landmarks and boarder line and definition of neighborhoods reaching for an ideal that never was makes it much easier to believe the fairy tale. In addition to working with all kinds of re-cyled materials, including but not limited to various types of papers, fabrics, crayons, chalks, paints and sculptural mediums there will be weekly workshops that explore art history and art/craft techniques including print making, fabric collage, book making, simple puppet making techniques and musical enjoyment.
If you live in Westchester, NY or want to take a short day trip up the Hudson
head over and join the fun!
I even started a blog about it - artinaboxco.blogspot.com
